Equine Affaire 2014

US PREBA’s first participation at Equine Affaire 2014 proved to be a resounding success for the promotion of the Pure Spanish Horse, our American P.R.E. Breeders and for the ten member volunteers from Florida, Ohio, Minnesota and West Virginia.

Topping well over 100,000 visitors, Equine Affaire 2014 was the embodiment of State Fair amusement and for artery clogging crazy foods in our country – traditional corn dogs, turkey legs, chili fries, funnel cakes, fried Orios & Twenkies, candy apples and, of course – the diversified flavors of horse breeds in the United States.

The US PREBA thirty (30) foot exhibition booth and stall  highlighted an array of Spanish cultural items which included classical Spanish riding attire, a Doma Vaquera saddle, spanish music, ANCCE videos, magazines, flyers and renowned Pure Spanish horse, DECO X. The special feature of the booth was the display of the imported P.R.E. oil paintings by gifted Spanish Artist, Virginia Romero ( http://equestrianartvr.com ).

  • Three P.R.E. presentations in traditional attire by Manuela Reynolds Klecz and the discipline of Garrocha by Damian Maciel with narration and music won the hearts of the attendants;

  • Hosting and answering questions of several thousand visitors at the PREBA booth from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm;

  • A P.R.E Seminar for Equine Affaire guests and attendees:

  • A US PREBA Board meeting ( ratification of Vice President, Juan A. Espinoza and Exhibitions Director, Dieter Probson );

US PREBA members from all over the country were on hand to proudly support fellow members Manuela Klecz and Damian Maciel, two of the featured performers in this year’s  sold-out show, The Fantasia.  The Fantasia   takes place at the coliseum and runs for three evenings during the Expo’s four day run.  It has become a well-known tradition over the past 18 years drawing more than 6,000 equine enthusiasts to each show.  The production includes a variety of athletic disciplines including freestyle reining, dressage, drill teams, Roman driving and two of the top liberty horse trainers in the business:  Guy McLean and Tommie Turvey.

“It was an honor and a privilege to be personally invited to showcase our spectacular PRE horse”, said Manuela Klecz.  This would not have been possible without the support of PREBA. Damian and I are extremely pleased to be here with our horses in an effort to represent our breed to the public-at-large. “ Thousands of people saw with their own eyes the exquisite beauty, versatility and athleticism of these horses.  There is nothing better than that for our breed,”  said US PREBA President, Alexander Zilo.
