The U.S.A. is Honored in Nicaragua
Jockey Club, Granada, Nicaragua. For four (4) days the best P.R.E. Horses in Nicaragua showed an excellent performance for enthusiasts at the 10th Fiesta of the Purebred Spanish Horse . One hundred-thirty (130) horses and and over forty (40) breeders participated in the national competition.
While the activities started on Thursday at the Jockey Club, the official opening was performed with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, January 16th cutting by the President of the Nicaraguan Association of Breeders of Pure Spanish Horses , D. Ismael Alberto Reyes .
” P.R.E. breeders throughout Central America gather to share their passion for P.R.E. horses. In Nicaragua,, we believe our breeders have world class results in the breeding of horses , ” said Ismael Reyes .
At the the national P.R.E. event delegations of Panama , Honduras , Costa Rica , United States and Spain were present.
The US Ambassador , Hon. Laura F. Dogu , on behalf of the American breeders, received awards for their outstanding participation in this event.
Acknowledged for the United States breeders were Barbara Currie (FSHA), Alexander B. Zilo (PREBA) and Juan Espinoza (PREBA) for the United States.
PREBA President, Alexander Zilo said: “ We are extremely impressed with the world class Jockey Club venue, astonished by the superlative quality of the horses and moreover humbled by the hospitality of the Nicaraguan Breeders. We thank our breeding colleague, Ismael Reyes for the courtesies extended”.
PREBA Vice President, Juan Espinoza said: “ Words cannot express the joy I feel of living my passion for the P.R.E. horse in the motherland of my family. I thank Ismael Reyes and all the Nicaraguan breeders for their amazing hospitality and brilliant competition performances”.
Also recognized were Pedro and Macarena Pingarrón San Pedro (Yeguada Mater Christi), Rafael Peralta – a known personality of the Spanish breed.
Pedro Pingarrón said: “We have been coming to this event for ten years. It is an impressive investment and effort that has been made in Nicaragua to improve the livestock bloodlines in Nicaraguan.”
“We are extremely competitive and are always competing for first place . In Central America we are classified as the country with the best breeding of purebred Spanish horses . Nicaragua , I think, that after that Mexico is the best specimens have , “said Juan Burgos of Granada .
Cesar Augusto Lacayo said ” The Spanish Horse Fair in Granada has been gaining momentum every year and is really becoming a boutique fair with the quality of horses that are presented by Nicaraguan breeders , who strive to show the best quality”.
